Orthotic Leather & Suede
Overview
Orthotic leather and suede materials are essential for traditional bracing, reinforcement, and aesthetic finishing. Stridemaker Healthcare supplies a full range of natural and synthetic leathers, suedes, and lining materials designed for use in AFOs, KAFOs, spinal braces, and custom foot orthoses.
Our leathers are selected for their durability, flexibility, skin compatibility, and ease of fabrication — and are available in full or half hides, pre-cut strips, and custom shapes.
Vegetable-Tanned Leather (Natural Finish)
Use: Classic orthotic straps, uprights, and corset braces
Features:
- Durable and stiff with natural texture
- Can be wetted, molded, and stitched
- Accepts dye or wax polish
Thickness: 2.5–4.0 mm

Chrome-Tanned Orthotic Leather
Use: Smooth, flexible applications (e.g., strap backing, liner panels)
Features:
- Softer feel with strong tear resistance
- Good water tolerance

Split Suede Sheets
Use: Interior surface lining for spinal orthoses and AFOs
